The parking at Heathrow Airport in England is designed to accommodate any need that a traveler has. It is broken up into three types of parking lots - long term parking for people traveling for days or weeks at a time short term parking for a day or less and then business parking for people who need fast service to the terminal. The airport also offers a valet service so you do not even need to worry about parking the car yourself if you are in a hurry.
There are long term parking lots available at Terminals 134 and 5 with Terminal 2 currently under construction under 2014. These are the lots you will want to use if you are traveling for days weeks or even a month or more at a time. The lots themselves are situated further away from the terminal than the other lots but they offer regular shuttle service to their respective terminal. Like most airports the prices on the long term parking are much cheaper than the other lots and so it is a cost efficient way to have your car ready for you when you return from your trip.
On the other end you have the short term parking located right next to each of these terminals. This is for parking for less than 24 hours which is great if you are dropping someone off to fly or you have a meeting at the airport just for the day. The airport charges by the hour for parking in these lots at a rate of roughly three pounds per hour. This is pricey but very convenient.
For business people who come and go from the airport at regular intervals you may want to consider Heathrow's business parking lots. These lots are a kind of super convenient long term parking lot. They are closer to the airport than the long term lots and have almost constant shuttle service so you will be able to get to the terminal in less than half the time it takes from the long term lot. This can make a big difference for someone who flies for their work regularly and the lot has proven to be a success. It is also easy to reach from the highway so you can pull right in and be on your way.
Depending on how much of a hurry you are in the airport has a valet service available for all three lots so if you want to just pull up to your terminal and toss the keys to someone you have that option. It is not cheap but if you are in a rush or just hate dealing with the car it is a good option.
There are a number of options for parking at Heathrow Airport. You can pull up for a few hours and be gone you can leave your car for weeks at a time or you can use the business parking at Heathrow as a sort of in-between option. They all will serve to make your airport experience as smooth as possible.

The Advantages of Parking at Heathrow Airport
There are many concerns and worries when it comes to parking at Heathrow Airport. The size and volume of people coming and going the rioting in London vandals and car thieves all pose an enormous risk to the safety and security of a vehicle.
In most secure facilities around the globe the first deterrent to unauthorized entry or access is a strong perimeter fence. More than just a barrier a fence of the appropriate height and construction conveys the message that the area beyond is off limits to unauthorized persons. The areas designated for parking at Heathrow are fully protected by a strong steel fence system that was designed to be difficult to climb and cut. With a considerable height climbing the fence is trying and time consuming for would-be interlopers. This buys the security staff precious minutes to discover the threat and take the appropriate measures to apprehend the intruder.
The designers of the airport parking structures have considered every possible scenario and taken great measures to safeguard customers vehicles and property from all possible threats. The implementation of closed circuit television cameras allows guards and parking staff to monitor the grounds from a remote location such as a guard house or office. These cameras work in a closed loop that is hardwired directly from the lens mechanism to the monitor within the office deterring potential attacks and acts of subversion by technically well informed individuals that would seek to interrupt the video feed to conceal their activities. By making it impossible to splice into the CCTV lines staff can be confident that the images they see on their viewing monitors are the actual conditions in real time.
Nothing is as effective to the prevention of theft and vandalism as the presence of an armed guard. With that in mind the staff and security at Heathrow Airport make frequent circuitous rounds of the parking at Heathrow. With eyes on the ground level and the staff watching from the office individuals who attempt to conceal themselves from the sentry will likely be spotted on camera and the guard can then proceed to locate the trespasser handing them over to airport authorities.
The parking structures at Heathrow airport offer access to many different types and heights of vehicles. The cost of parking varies depending on the expected duration of the stay but it is reasonably priced. There are special valet services available to clients at a higher fee that offer drop off and pick up at the gate of departure or arrival some of these services will include a thorough washing and vacuuming of the vehicle before picking up the client. The convenience offered by these options affords the weary traveler a much needed reprieve from the stresses of busy terminals.
There are many advantages to leaving a vehicle at the Heathrow Airport parking garages while the traveler is away. Security is ever-present and the optional services when parking at Heathrow make the flying experience a little more endurable for customers.
